Subject: N26-001 March for Life Invitation - Life is a Gift & Upcoming 2026 Initiatives
Dearest Chaplains, Chaplain Assistants, Youth Leaders, and all VEYM members,
Along with the Chaplains at the National Headquarters, the National Executive Committee joyfully extends greetings of love and peace of Jesus Christ to you and your families.
Since Roe v. Wade, over 62 million lives have been lost to legalized abortion. Each January, thousands of pilgrim journey to Washington, D.C., to pray for greater respect for the dignity of every human life and to participate in the National March for
Life. This year’s theme is “Life is a Gift.”
In unity with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), the National Executive Committee invites all VEYM members to join our bishops’ pro-life novena and participate in the
9 Days for Life initiative from

Pray With the Pope: A Renewed Invitation From Pope Leo XIV
A couple days ago, Pope Leo XIV launched a renewed initiative: Pray with the Pope. Through this program, the Holy Father invites each of us to pause, enter into a spirit of communion, and pray
in synodality with him for his monthly intention.
Let us joyfully answer our beloved Pope’s call—uniting our hearts in prayer for the challenges facing humanity and for the mission entrusted to the Church. May our shared prayer become a source of hope, healing, and renewed faith for the world.

Pope Leo XIV Begins New Catechesis Series on Vatican II
During this week’s Wednesday General Audience, Pope Leo XIV opened a new catechesis series dedicated to the
Second Vatican Council (Vatican II) and its foundational documents. He emphasized that the teachings of the Council remain the guiding star of the Church’s life and mission today.
The Holy Father encouraged the faithful with these words:
“Closely studying the Council documents will help us to be attentive interpreters of the signs of the times, and to proclaim the Gospel to all. As we make our journey of rediscovering the teachings of the Second Vatican Council, let us welcome the past with
its rich tradition; let us consider the present with its joys and sorrows; and let’s look towards the future with an urgent appeal for greater justice, love, and peace.”
The National Executive Committee encourages all VEYM members to tune in weekly to
the
Holy Father’s Wednesday catechesis. Together, let us deepen our understanding of the timeless wisdom of Vatican II and its enduring guidance for the Church today.
