Dearest VEYM family, 

Happy Monday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time to you and yours! 

Trong bài huấn dụ trước giờ đọc Kinh Truyền Tin trưa hôm qua, Đức Thánh Cha Lêô XIV chia sẻ vài suy niệm dựa trên đoạn Tin Mừng của Thánh Luca (Lc 11, 1-13) về cầu nguyện. Đức Giáo Hoàng nhắc nhở chúng ta về tình phụ tử cao cả của Thiên Chúa trong bài Phúc Âm. Như một người sẵn lòng thức dậy giữa đêm khuya để giúp bạn mình tiếp đón một vị khách bất ngờ, Thiên Chúa luôn quan quan tâm, lắng nghe, và cho con mình những điều tốt lành nhất. Thiên Chúa không bao giờ ngoảnh mặt khi chúng ta hướng về Người. Vì thế, ngay cả những khi chúng ta cảm thấy câu trả lời của Thiên Chúa thật khó hiểu, chúng ta hãy vững tin vào sự khôn ngoan và quan phòng cao cả vượt xa khả năng hiểu biết của chúng ta để không ngừng liên lỉ cầu nguyện với lòng tín thác. Vì chỉ qua Thiên Chúa, chúng ta mới luôn tìm thấy được ánh sáng và sức mạnh. Đức Thánh Cha nói Kinh Lạy Cha là lời cầu nguyện hiệp nhất mọi Kitô Hữu. Ngài cũng nhắn nhủ chúng ta rằng chúng ta cũng hãy bày tỏ sự quyết tâm đáp lại hồng ân Thiên Chúa bằng cách yêu thương nhau như Người yêu thương: một cách sẵn sàng, tế nhị, biết quan tâm nhau và không tính toán. Ngài nhắc lại lời Thánh Gioan Kim Khẩu nói, “anh em không thể gọi Thiên Chúa là Cha nhân hậu nếu trong lòng vẫn giữ sự độc ác và vô cảm; bởi như thế, anh em không còn mang hình ảnh tốt lành của Chúa Cha trên trời nơi chính mình nữa.”

3. This week, thousands of Vietnamese American Catholics will gather in Carthage, Missouri for the annual Marian Days to honor our Blessed Mother and glorify God. Please refer the flyer attached for our VEYM’s activities at the campus of the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer (CRM). Let us also pray for the safe travels for all pilgrims and through Mary’s intercession, may they all deepen their relationship with her son, Jesus. We sincerely appreciate the John Paul II League of Chapters for their help leading the VEYM initiatives at this celebration for many years!
