I think it would be useful to create an option to download all of the
content that the app can access to an sd card. I love my android
phone but I did not get a data plan with it which means I can only use
this app as it is intended to work when I am within wifi range. If
all the data could be loaded onto a sd card then an internet
connection would not be required for full functionality, which would
be ideal for those of us that cannot afford a data plan.

Yes, this is currently the most-requested feature, and we are working
on it.
Part of the complexity is that currently the app makes a request from
LDS.org
for every Ensign conference talk you want to view (because that's
copyrighted
material, so we don't publish it ourselves). I'll need to work with
the Church to
get permission to cache the content on your device. On the other
hand,
Version 2.0 of the Gospel Library app will soon be released, and it
will have
the content of the Ensign already downloaded. I don't want to
duplicate
Gospel Library's functions and store the same materials twice. Look
for an
update that caches the 1970-and-earlier materials on your SD card
first, and
when Gospel Library 2.0 is released and lets us integrate, we'll be
able to
pull the content from their local database (which is also stored on
the SD card).

Thanks for the feedback.

Has this been done yet?

We've implemented it on the iOS side, but we're still working on Android.  I'm doing a tablet-friendly Android version, and this feature will be included with that version.  It looks like I'll probably release the April 2012 update before we have this fully tested and ready to go.

Great, thanks!
