Hi

I have the following setup:

Dell Latitude E5570 laptop

Processor:Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6600U CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.80GHz
Installed Memory: 8GB
System Type: 64-bit Operating System

Windows 7 Enterprise SP1

Graphics : Built in Intel Hd Graphics 520

I have downloaded Arena 3.5.1 and installed lczero v 0.10 with id501.

I have tried running Leela in different time formats and in Gauntlet Mode, she just gets crushed everytime. Is there any settings i can try to improve her performance?

Regards

You should use Lc0 instead of lczero. Its 10 times faster. lczero uses CPU where Lc0 use GPU. Plays way better.

Dont consider using Leela, with build in Intel HD graphic card!

She wont run, or run horribly useless.

You  need a Modern Nvidia dedicated GPU.

Otherwise just use Stockfish, stockfish can nicely run even on smartphone.

@Thomas Kaas:

Not true. Lczero uses GPU through OpenCL and Intel HD Graphics 520 supports OpenCL version 2.0

@Greg Ainsborough:

Leela gets crushed playing against which engine?

Just run Lc0 and you will get way better results. I made many games between Lc0 and GPU win version. Lc0 is way better

Thomas,

Lc0 will solely run with dedicated Nvidia-GPU - as you should know, since we helped you through installing.

@greg: You´ll have to use Lczero CPU-Version. But it will (likely) never be nearly as fast as any GPU-Version.

Well, sorry. Did not know that only Nvidia could.

Correction: Meanwhile there is a Lc0 for other GPUs - but I don´t think, that integrated graphics will work or if so, will be much faster than CPU - sorry! Loads of development going on just now.

Hi

Thanks for all the great feedback.

So yesterday morning i ran a quick tournament between Leela ID 501 and Laser 1.6.

LeelavsLaser-1_6v10

RankEngineScoreLc
1Laser-1_69.5/101111=11111
2Lczero v1.10 ID5010.5/10· ·· ·· ·· ··

10 games played / Tournament is finished

I installed the software this morning the 20 July. Decided to repeat the tournament. I am using the lczero_mkl_popcnt.exe instead of lczero.exe.

LeelavsLaser-1_6v11

RankEngineScoreLc
1Laser-1_63.0/5==101
2Lczero v1.10 ID5042.0/5· ·· ··

5 of 10 games played

I will still continue to experiment and upload the results.

If it is true CPU users can enhance its performance so much, this should be explained better!!!

Could you publish nps before and after mkl use, please?

 If your results are confirmed then you got an incredible elo increase!!

 Could you also have a try to small nets (that run faster in CPU), please?

 You can find them in testserver

 (I mean the 6x64 ones)
