Hello!

The Bearos have had to postpone two games this season, first due to torrential rain and second due to other team not having enough players (and strikes to be fair) so we were happy to accommodate postponing. We're finding it really hard to reschedule matches due to clashes in availability (now for us and the two opposing teams).

Every season tends to start off strong for numbers and then drops off a bit as people go on holiday from June. We may be at a point of considering merging longer term but in the interim, is there a pool of keen players not on teams we can reach out to this season to help us with our rescheduled matches?

In particular we have a game pencilled in for 9/10 June but only have about 5 players available.

Many thanks
Alex / The Bearos

Hi Alex,

Thanks so much for getting in touch and letting us know the issues you're facing getting players together later in the season. You won't be surprised to learn that this year many other teams have also been in touch very early on who have found it difficult to reach the minimum player amounts from the first couple of weeks. While we have been lucky enough to have lots of small numbers of interested players getting in touch from the beginning of the year, as well as players from disbanded teams and charities that have dropped out this year, these have now all been allocated as of last week. So, we won't be able to help for your match 9/10 June, unfortunately.

Please can you let us know when you do begin to struggle a lot more and we will see if anyone else has been in touch by then? I will make sure you are at the top of the list for consideration. 🙂

Sorry I can't be of more help!

Best wishes,
Palak

Hi Palak

Thanks for getting back to us. The Bearos would like to be on the list of teams needing ringers or additional players for the rest of the season. We have several Bearos that are keen to continue playing softball and we really want to keep that momentum going for the core team, despite the struggles with rearranging fixtures. We're a very inclusive, supportive, and easy going team and we welcome any players that share the same mindset.

Kind regards
Alex/The Bearos
