Hi all

I have walked over your 2 postponed games.  Must be hard to give 3 walkovers out of 5 games.

You have been firm supporters of our league for years.

Would you consider now rallying for the Shield as the 6th place team?  Start agin in July.  The commitee are willing to hold that door open for you, if you want it.  Equally if you have firends in another team who are struggling, the few who want to play could merge into them.  Schedule is here https://www.charitysoftball.co.uk/page/6_key_dates_2026.html .  No need to deciede today.

Sad email from us in this heatwave, and one I’m sure you don’t want to hear this far in the season. Unfortunately, we’ve really been struggling for numbers despite the strong start we had at the beginning of the season. This week we only just managed to pull together a team for the match that has now been cancelled, and for each time we go back out with new match dates our uptake is lower and lower – for next weeks rescheduled match against DT we only have 3 confirmed players (us Captains).

 

We really appreciate the suggestions around rescheduling this week’s match, but after discussion between us three we think the best thing for us is to fold for the rest of the season / forfeit our remaining matches.

 

Huge apologies for the re-working this will cause to you, and the impact on remaining fixtures and playoffs. We always massively enjoy being part of the league and connecting with everyone, but this year the spark to play seems to not be as bright.

I see you are coming to finals night, makes me very happy.

 

I am still holding 6^th place, a spot in the shield for you.  I will not know who from league 6 till about 10pm tommorow…. Bottom of the table DH after the England game in victoria park.

 

If you want the place, it’s yours, if you think you could get a team out next week….  You’ve been such great supporters of the league over the years.  Anyhow, no pressure.  If I don’t hear from you tomorrow (weds 1^st of July), I’ll assume it it isa polite no thank you.

We’re in prime annual leave time, so sadly we’ll have to pass on the place in the shield but thank you so much for the consideration and the understanding email you sent previously. We really appreciate the support, and yes, have managed to rally some energy for finals night!

 

Thanks again for the tireless efforts in organisation, we know it can’t be easy to do!
