Hi all

Not sure where / when the following games are happening this week:

Homing Pigeons vs GOSHtriches

Pandamonium vs Team Sally Army

Shablamnesty vs The Allsorts

The Unpreventables vs Cells Angels

 A pitch has just become free tommorow (teusday) as Mighty CRUKs vs St Sluggers has been forced to move into the rest week.  There are still 2 pitches on thursday this week. 

If you are planning on playing elsewhere this week, having to use the rest week, please let me know, to help me plan QFs.

Please be aware if you use the rest week and it gets cancelled (e.g. for weather), committee will have to adjudicate on which team qualifys!

If both teams can't play this week it is acceptable to move into final rest week.

Three fixtures have already done so. Hyde Park is open for bookings, plenty of pitches

However if the game does get played, e.g. another red weather warning for heat/rain etc....  You will not be able to delay further.  The committee will decide who progresses, probably via a coin toss.  We have a fixed deadline for QF/Semis and finals night.  We have said the same to everybody.  Schedule is here https://www.charitysoftball.co.uk/page/6_key_dates_2026.html

I would also reccomend you try and play earlier in the week e.g. teusday or wednesday.... so the winner has plenty of time to plan a quarter final date with AMS Cobras in a QF.  Once you have a date sorted, let liam at AMS know and start trying to work out a QF date well in advance.  The full draw for the shield can be found here https://www.charitysoftball.co.uk/fg/2_231053843.html

Erica asked the same question yesterday.  This is what I sent them.....

Hyde Park remains free of charge because we ran a campaign back in 2013 to keep it that way.  Long story

WWF come in from Working where their head office is, you are in the city.  Assuming some people in an office that day.  So travel for them is probably a bigger issue than for you (probably)

Teams find sapces in other free to play areas of parks (never use a marked out softball pitch, these cost upwards of £70 a sesssion).

Possible alternatives

• Regents Park (cumberland green has room for 2 pitches, marylebone green 1, space has become restricted over the years)
• Kennington Park
• Bits of Battersea Park
• Weavers Field in bethnal green
• Finsbury Park (nr scope)
• Victoria Park (nr the village)
• Shoreditch park (but getting harder and harder)

Your best bet is Regents park by cumberland green, but somebody has to get ther early (send cyclists in advance with basess).  Really only space for 2 games between teh trees.  All the other space is paid for.
