Hi League 2 Captains,

A quick update that unfortunately MSF Manta Rays and Fairtrade Tea-Rexes have had to withdraw from this season's softball league due to internal changes. We wish those teams and their players all the best, and hopefully will see them back next season.

For the remaining 4 teams, we will update the fixtures to give you a bye week where you were scheduled to play those teams. Do reach out to other teams across the leagues if you would like to schedule friendlies in case they also have bye weeks that align.

Happy Softballing!
Sharon & Rob

Hi all

AATM and HC, will struggle to get June friendlies  with teams in other leagues.  Tube stikes may cause issues again.  https://www.charitysoftball.co.uk/page/6_key_dates_2026.html

Remaining fixtures for your league:

Home Team Away Team Date
St Sluggers Foodfighters 01/06/2026
Hits Creek Foodfighters 08/06/2026
Age Against the Machine St Sluggers 08/06/2026
St Sluggers Hits Creek 22/06/2026

Opportunity 1 - Foodfighters have a pitch tommorow in hyde park, 27th of May, should have been playing fairtrade.  St Sluggers could play them early, enjoy the sun.  Short notice, but an option.

Opportunity 2 - Hits Creek and Age Against the Machine, could play each other a 2nd time in June......  otherwise you only have 1 league game in June.  Rest week 15th of June could work for you.  Yes it is a rematch, but you both should be able to get a squad out.  Other weeks avaialble to you e.g. during tube strikes next week, or fional rest week at end of june...  Just an idea

Opportunity 3 - W/c 22nd of June....  anybody wanting to play, could play same night as St sluggers vs Hits creek.  Get 2 picthes next to each other.  League game has to happen, but you could mix and match, double headers, have a league 2 celebration night.

Opportunity 4 - If St Suggers vs Foodfighters postponed by tube strikes, St sluggers june get very busy whilst other teams have no fixtures.  W/c 08/06....  All 4 teams agree a night, play  designated league games fo that week.......  Then St Sluggers vs Food Fighters play a 2nd time, the others cher them on.  If you agree a night we could try to get you 2 pitches next to each other for a festival of softball.

These are all ideas to help you get your games in, but also find a way to acctualy play in June

Just opening up a discussion see how I can help you play, if just confinde to league 4 opponents

Thoughts?

Stato

Hi everyone - Food Fighters here 🙂

Thanks for the email and the table, really helpful. It's sad to hear about the other two teams, really hope they can join again next year!

I've asked St Sluggers if they're available tomorrow 27/5/26 to play the game we scheduled w/c 1/6/26 but it was too last minute.
We're gonna keep the slot tomorrow and practice, we've had some excellent practice sessions so we're happy to just practice more and have friendlies 🙂

We have Tuesday 2/6/25 as a potential for next week's game against St Sluggers but if the strikes go ahead our team might have to postpone. I've asked St Sluggers if they could do w/c 15th June as a back-up.

We'd be very happy to play a friendly on w/c June 22/5/26 against Age against the machine

Hi all,
Just to echo others, such a shame for those teams. We've played the Tea-Rexes for a few seasons in a row now, and it's sad to see them go. Hopefully it's just for now and both teams will be back again in the future.

As Paul has said, the Slugs could have quite a busy June. However if we do manage to get our game sorted for next week, then happy to explore options for something fun and friendly w/c 15/6!

Thanks
Will

Hi everyone,

Very sorry to learn of Tea-Rexes' and Manta Rays' withdrawal from the league. Everyone at AATM wishes them well and hopes to see them back playing in the future.

Thank you, Paul, for offering all the options and permutations to replace our missed games. The main feedback I've had from our team is that we would love any opportunity to play, so I'm happy to seek out games with anyone who will have us.

The Opportunity 2, rematch with Hits Creek, is a good place for us to start planning. But we also like the idea of #3's double pitch.

I'll reach out to Hits Creek captains separately and discuss next steps.

Best wishes,

John

Morning captains,

Hits Creek were due to play on 3rd June. We've got 10 who can play but availability isn't great any other time this week due to strikes. If your team is available for a friendly, please can you get back to me by latest tomorrow 10am?

Best,
