Just wanted to give you a heads up about some recent vandalism in Liberty Canyon.
This morning my neighbors alerted me that they noticed that my tire and hub cap had been removed from my car, parked on the street on Country Glen Rd.
The tire and hub cap were found downhill near the intersection of Liberty Canyon and Country Glen. The lug nuts were gone.
Another neighbor sent me an e-mail this morning that the same thing had happened to her. Here are excerpts from her e-mail:
". . . .parked car late yesterday afternoon at the curb at Yankee.
Sometime between then and approx 9 am today, someone stole right front hub cap and wheel,
and propped up car with a jack.
Honda wheel cap was found in the ivy on slope
. . . .reported the loss . . . the Lost Hills dispatcher
said that was the second call they received today for a stolen wheel
in Liberty Canyon. Detective Armstrong arrived and took crime report,
He mentioned this was the second of two stolen tires last night,
and one tire was found at the foot of the Country Glen, in shrubbery.
Det Armstrong's theory is that these thefts are pranks, because if the thieves
really wanted to keep the tire, they would not have rolled it downhill.
He suggested that I make a foot-search for my own tire "
