Afternoon all,

Due to scheduling conflicts, I am canceling tonight’s meeting.  Anyone wanting to help with setting up the Giving Tree Christmas Tree needs to meet me tomorrow morning at 9:30 in the Student Services Lobby (outside my office).  I also have star’s for the tree that need to be cut out, which we can do on Saturday, November 20th at my place after we have our Transgendered Day of Remembrance service.  The service will be held at 4:00 pm.  My address is 2531 Pattison Ave, Apt D.  You can reach me on my cell if you have any questions at 287-2314.  Nightstar is putting together our service.  If you would like to help her, please contact her.

I still do not have the specifics about World AIDS Day service on campus.  Once I do, I will email everyone with the specifics.  Below is the information about the evening services that will be held.  It would be great to have as many of us there as possible.

The club will not have a regular club meeting again until December 2nd.   I will let you know what else might come up between now and then.

Thanks,

Mary Aragon

2010 WORLD AIDS DAY SERVICE AT FIRST UNITED METHODIST

November 13, 2010, Cheyenne, Wyoming……The Board of the Cheyenne Chapter of Wyoming AIDS Walk is pleased to announce that the 2010 World AIDS Day Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Cheyenne. The service will begin at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2010.

World AIDS Day is celebrated on December 1 each year. It has become one of the most recognized international health days and provides a key opportunity to:

    • raise awareness
    • commemorate those who have passed on
    • celebrate victories such as increased access to treatment and prevention services

The ecumenical service is being jointly planned by representatives from First United Methodist Church, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Grace United Methodist Church and First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). They, along with representatives of other Cheyenne-area faith communities, will share in leading the service.

A free-will offering will be collected that will be equally split between Wyoming AIDS Walk and the United Methodist Global AIDS Fund.

The 2010 Service is the third annual such event. In 2008, it was hosted by St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and, in 2009, by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Cheyenne.

The public is invited. First United Methodist Church is located at 108 East 18th Street in downtown Cheyenne. For additional information, please contact the Church Office at 307/632-1410.
