Thank you for this link. I thoroughly enjoyed the talk. Am not quite
sure that I agree with his definition of "conservatives", as he said
that a conservative is someone who believes in facts, rather than pie
in the sky. What does that mean for our "conservative" leadership, who
rejects the facts from history, sociology, biology, etc and instead
use "theologic" thinking? Either his definition of Conservatives is
flawed, or we have to come of with another label for some of the
pastors and leaders of our church. (please feel free to come up with
new terms for them, :-) )
The speaker made one mistake though. if a heterosexual couple wants to
marry but from the word go say that they do not want to have children,
RC law says that they cannot marry. I checked with my RC sources on
this one. So the biggest Christian church is quite adamant that
reproduction needs to be part of the equation in marriage.
The speaker was also wondering what went wrong? Why is it that
conservatives are not getting that this is a conservative issue?
Missing intelligence came to mind......
