End of Semester Schedule

Dear Students:

We have been getting a lot of questions concerning the end of term schedule. Please note that page 44 of your student handbook has the schedule. The precise timings of the individual Arabic finals were set on Thursday and sent out today.

 

As a reminder:

1.    Make up day for any missed area studies classes are December 11^th. Please check with your area studies faculty to see if they are holding make up classes that day.

2.    Arabic final exams are December 12-16^th.  The precise schedule is posted in the office.

3.    Good-Bye Dinner: Wednesday December 15^th : Jabri Ballroom on Garden’s Street at 7:00PM

4.    Last day for all classes is December 16^th. TO clarify, that means your last area studies class is December 15^th.

5.    Post Test – December 16^th OR 19^th  Per Schedule. Please note that to accommodate the University of Jordan’s English testing schedule, we needed to divide the post-test periods between the Thursday, December 16^th and the 19^th. The capacities of the labs are 45 so please follow the date and time schedule carefully.

6.    Re-Entry Preparation December 19^th – 2 sessions – 10-12:00 and 1-3:00 in Wadi Rum Khalifeh. This is Recommended but not mandatory

7.    Area Studies Final Exams: Monday, December 20^th – Wednesday December 22^nd. 

a.    Classes meeting from 2:00-3:30 should have their exam on Monday between 2:00 and 5:00.

b.    Classes meeting from 3:30-5:00 should have their exam on Wednesday between 2:00 and 5:00

8.    Post Test Results will be available Thursday, December 23^rd from 9:00 in hard copy. You may also take a copy of your actual exam at this time.

9.    Housing Ends 5:00 December 24^th.

 

Again, as per the handbook, you are free to leave once you have completed your exams, returned all books, cleaned your apartment and packed. However, if you travel before December 23^rd you need to fill out a travel form with Jennifer.  The post test is mandatory. This score will provide you with a key measure of your progress in Arabic that is separate from your grade. A grade only tells you information about your rank in class and number of points gained. The post-test score provides and individual measure of your achievement in Arabic. Students have often used that score to petition for credit or placement. The re-entry session is recommended. In addition to information about reverse culture shock, this session addresses important questions about grades, credit transfer and the like.

In class evaluations:

For Arabic December 5^th and 9^th

For Area Studies: December 13^th and 15^th (Faculty should not be having exams during this time)

2. Use your My CIEE login and password to login
1. This is the same login and password you used to access your application and pre-departure checklist
2. Forgot your password?
3. Tap the “Forgot Password” button.  If you continue to have problems, email js...@ciee.org.

 

3. Complete the evaluation (The entire survey should take about 10 minutes)

 

4. Log out of the evaluation.
1. You should see a “Thank You” message upon logging out in a proper manner. Please wait for this message to ensure your feedback was received
