ACOR is pleased to announce the upcoming public lecture:
“Drawing the Line: The Archaeology of Roman Provincial Borders Between Palestine and Arabia”
By Dr. Kate da Costa, Australian Endeavor Post-doctoral Research Fellow and
Honorary Research Affiliate, Department of Archaeology, University of Sydney
on Wednesday 15 December 2010 at ACOR at 6:00 pm. There will be a reception immediately after the lecture.
Dr. Kate da Costa has been working in archaeology in Jordan for over 20 years. She is a Co-Director of the University of Sydney’s excavations at Pella (Tabaqat Fahl), working on Roman and Byzatine material from the site. She is an expert on the ceramic lamps of Jordan, and the southern Levant. She has been undertaking field work on the archaeology of Roman provincial administration on the Borders of Arabia and Palaestina project. Her current project is a joint study with the Jordan Museum, investigating Jordanian attitudes to archaeological heritage, funded by an Australian Government Endeavour Post-doctoral Fellowship.
