Good Afternoon, NBEOC Members:
Like many of you, FEMA is monitoring the weather system impacting nearly 60M people across four FEMA Regions (II, III, IV, and VI) this weekend. Today's National Situation Report is attached which includes the latest weather, operational status, and declarations
at the state level.
Both at HQ and regionally, we have prepared as much as possible with at least seven states declaring emergencies for the massive winter storm that is bringing both heavy precipitation and high winds. Obviously, two major impacts of this event includes the disruption
of power and transportation. FEMA and other Federal agencies are monitoring to assist with business resumption efforts in support of states if necessary.
Attached are additional items that may be helpful for your situational awareness as you continue to brace for the event and ensure safe operations. This includes the NOAA Meteorological Update, DHS Critical Infrastructure Impact Report, and current FEMA Regional
Private Sector Liaison Contact Map.
A few NBEOC Members are also tracking the event and aggregating information that is not Federally-endorsed:
The National Business Emergency Operations Center is not currently activated for this event; Regional Response Coordination Centers are monitoring. No calls are planned for this weekend. Should this change, we will distribute the information accordingly.
Please let us know if you have questions, concerns, or other information sharing needs. When the storm lifts, we greatly appreciate receiving information on impacts or other status updates that you are willing to share in support of response planning efforts.
We will be monitoring this inbox over the weekend.
If you don't already follow @FEMA on Twitter, we routinely post disaster declaration information, preparedness tips, and other messaging that may be useful for you. If you’re not already receiving it, you can also sign up for the FEMA Daily Operations Briefing
at http://www.fema.gov/email.
Stay safe.
