As far I could recollect, Oracle EBS R12.0.x & R12 12.1.x are not certified yet for Linux 7.x, let it be Red Hat Linux or Oracle enterprise Linux. Does the certification path really make guys like us trying to clone, install EBS R12 over yet to be certified platforms? Well, my case, I always did attempt & succeeded to a certain levels. Starting with Oracle 10g over Windows 7, 8 etc.

Check the UDEV rules are working on both machines. In previous versions of OL6 the "/etc/udev/rules.d/99-oracle-asmdevices.rules" file copied between servers during the clone without any issues. For some reason, this doesn't seem to happen on my OL6.3 installations, so you may need to repeat the UDEV configuration on the second node if the output of the following command is not consistent on both nodes.

Make sure the "ol6-121-rac1" and "ol6-121-rac2" virtual machines are started, then login to "ol6-121-rac1" as the oracle user and start the Oracle installer. Check that all services are up using "crsctl stat res -t", as described before.

If this is a new installed Oracle and you do not have initXE.ora parameter file here /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/dbs/, that means you need to create XE DB first. To do that run /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/bin/createdb.sh script first.

Hi Brijesh,
We have a particular situation. We are on 12.2.4 and we need to perform full clone. We have a 4 node application clone and its all non-shared file system. While cloning as per the process we run adpreclone on source run FS and copy the application file system. As we have 9 NLS and lot of custom forms, one file system size is 100+ GB.
If we are copying only run FS on only primary node and then adcfgclone.pl with dual fs option it copies internally on fs2. Same thing we need to perform on 3 other nodes. FMW_HOME configuration and copy of application fs (100*8=800 GB) is taking a lot of time.
We are looking for methods to reduce the cloning time. Please suggest. Also, can we do following ?
=> Only copying the appl_top,common_top and 10.1.2 oracle_home (what we normally do) and do not touch the FMW_HOME on target and run autoconfig with backup XML file after DB clone is doen.
=> We are trying to figure out if FMW_HOME has some info stored in database which we need to update?
Will this process work ? Please suggest.
