Hi All,

I've been using therm for while and have never had any issues. However I recently got a new computer and had to install therm.

On the new computer I can't seem to import dxf files properly? Previously the drawing image has always appeared once you hit ok however now the lines are all over the place and the drawing is unrecognizable.

I've been through this process about 6 times now checking the drawing, the file type and the import procedure all against the format of teh sample files. Everything matches and the sample file loads with no issue however my drawing still loads funny?

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong and how to resolve this? Thanks.

It seems that if the sample files import properly, there must be something you are doing differently to generate the DXF files.

Did you change how you are making the DXF files ? THERM can only deal with older format DXF files (AutoCAC 12 or 13). See this Knowledge Base article

Steff,

If the DXF files are older formats and you still have this problem try unchecking traces and solids in the DXF filter. You don't need to re-import the underlay to do this just go to underlay and uncheck the boxes. With luck you're underlay will then look normal.

I do not know what version of the program you are running, but I just put up a new version of THERM 7.2 (7.2.5) which fixed some DXF underlay autoconvert problems in previous versions of 7.2. It doesn't sound like that is your problem but thought I would mention it.

I have similar problems. The following is a workaround:

- select all in Acad drawing, then: -  EXPLODE, - set all layers to: 0 (Acad default)

- save as an older version of dxf

Good luck!

I had the same problem. I finally got the right underlay after saving the dxf file in R12 version. Thank you for the post!

There is a Knowledge Base article about DXF importing on our website:

See this THERM Knowledge Base article for information about preparing a DXF file for THERM to import.
