Have downloaded the software and can open the sample files fine.

Cannot open other existing THM files however. An error showing "Unexpected file format." pops up.

Cannot see the difference between the sample files and the ones I am trying to open

I have similar issue since I installed the therm 7.8 version even if the link between the THM files and the therm program is properly established: I cannot open a file with a double click on the file but I can only open the file with the "open" command inside the program

I have the exact same issue. THM files will not open. The issue started after installing Therm 7.7.12.

A bit more details and what I have tried (without sucess):
  • Therm  7.7.10 & 7.8 where installed in parallel and there were no issues.
  • Updated Therm to 7.7.12 and after that was not able to open *.THM files directly from Windows Explorer file browser. Nothing happens after double click.
  • I tried re-associating the THM files again to Therm without no sucess (via the defaul windows dialog box).
  • Opened up registry editor. To my view, evertything was correct e.g.:
    • Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Applications\THERM7.exe\shell\open\command = "C:\Program Files (x86)\lbnl\THERM7.7\THERM7.exe" "%1"
  • Tried to  associate THM files with the 7.8 (older installation), but no success.
  • Drag and drop top Therm works, but cant open from file browser with double click nor via "open with" command.
  • Tried un-installing Therm (all versions) and re-installing = no sucess.
  • Tried cleaning registry from everything that could associate with Therm.exe or *.THM files = no sucess.
  • Removerd  "%1" from the registry command - now Therm at least opens (without the file) and I can then drag and drop the file into Therm. This is utterly cumbersome, but better than nothing.
I have encountered the same problem with two different computers after the update to 7.7.12 and now cannot do anything to revert the behaviour.

Please look into it!
Kind regards

I have the same problem. I encourage the developers to respond to these requests.

Kind regards, Katrine
