Good morning,

I have a couple of questions:

1 - I need to calculate the U factor for a spandrel portion of the curtain wall. Do you think it's better to do it in therm (but as you can see in the image I have a warning after simulation) or to create a custom glazing system in Window Glass Library?

2 - In case I model the shadow box in Window, is CR Data for such a customized spandrel calculated?

Thanks in advance

If you email me (RDMit...@lbl.gov) your model I will see if I can figure out why you are getting the error message.

Hello.
This topic has been published very long time ago. My question is that how has this issue been resolved. I got the same issue.
Thank you.

Using a combination of WINDOW and THERM is probably the correct approach.

Make the glazing system, without the spandrel panel elements, import that into THERM, then add the spandrel panel elements to the THERM model.

This is explained in the NFRC Simulation Manual, Section 8.22, Spandrel Panel Systems, page 8-229. It describes a more complicated system than what you are modeling but the concept is the same.

THERM can calculate the CR value.
