Hi, I'm having trouble importing my Therm file into window 7.5. Whenever I try to import a file, a dialog box appears saying (please see attached pic for reference)  " Warning: Glazing system information is not in the Therm file. Make sure that the glazing thickness and U-factor fields are correct". I'm thinking that one factor is that I'm trying to import a Therm file with a Metal Infill. Now I am wondering if it is possible to import a Therm file with a metal infill? And if yes, How? Thanks

Can you provide the THERM File you are trying to import?

Also what versions of THERM and WINDOW are you using?

Hi Robin,

Here is the file that I'm trying to import into lbnl Window. And I'm currently using Therm 7.4 and Window 7.5. Thanks a lot! :)

This THERM file does not have a glazing system, which WINDOW 7.4 does allow to be imported (as of WINDOW 7.4.10). However, one of the Boundary Condition segments was tagged as "Edge" which is reserved for glazing systems in WINDOW. When I tried to import this file, WINDOW 7.4 actually crashed.

Removing the Edge U-factor tag (changing it to Frame in this case) resolved the problem and I was able to import it into the WINDOW 7.4 Frame Library.

I will add to the THERM "list of improvements" to prevent import of a THERM file without a glazing system but with an Edge U-factor tag.

But in the meantime, if you are using WINDOW in this way (which it really was not designed for -- it was meant to model THERM files with glazing systems), make sure to not defined any Edge U-factor tags.

Also I would highly recommend not mixing major versions of THERM and WINDOW.

If you are using THERM 7.4, then use the corresponding WINDOW 7.4

If you are using THERM 7.5, then use the corresponding WINDOW 7.5.
