Dear friends and community partners,

This is a reminder that tonight’s Ride of Silence will take place as scheduled.

Date: Wednesday, May 20, 2026
Location: Southwest parking lot, Robarts Arena, Sarasota
Arrival: 6:30–6:45 PM
Ride Begins: 7:00 PM
Ride Pace: Slow, silent, 10 mph or less
Helmets required. Lights recommended.

The Ride of Silence is a solemn memorial ride to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured in crashes, and to remind our community that cyclists have the same legal right to use public roads as motorists.

This is a rain-or-shine event. In the event of rain, we will still meet at Robarts Arena and determine whether conditions allow us to ride safely. If we are unable to ride, we will  then drive to Origin Craft Beer & Pizza Cafe, 1837 Hillview Street, Sarasota, where we will still honor and remember those who were killed or injured.

Thank you to everyone participating tonight: cyclists, law enforcement, media, bike clubs, local shops, and individual community members. Your presence matters. It helps show families, riders, drivers, and public officials that these lives are remembered and that roadway safety is a shared responsibility.

With appreciation,

Eugene Rider
