No, currently the drum loops are audio recordings that are played back, similar to backing tracks that you can play by USB or AUX In connections. There is an Ideascale vote for this feature, so please feel free to increase the vote count. -TEMPO-IN-SPIDER-V-DRUM-LOOPS/858610-23508
There is also the metronome that has a large range of different sounds, cow bell, high hat and whatnot that is completely adjustable in terms of tempo. If you simply need a rhythm at different tempos for practice, it's present. In addition, if you have a set of miked drums, you can input that for use with the looper.
Interesting, so the RELAY wireless support (V 60 and above) for cable free instrument connectivity, very flexible looper (especially with the FBV 3 foot controller), very large selection of amplifiers and cabinets and easy to use interface are much less important that tempo controlled drum loops?
Line 6 does listen to their customers and several of the ideascale submissions did make it to the product. If it's technically possible to bring this to the Spider V and the votes are there, I'm sure it'll come to the amp in a free firmware upgrade. If it's not technically possible but is requested, a future product will likely have this addition.
I have a very old Yamaha board, which is more than 20 years old, this multieffect board have a synthesizer and a drum looper, which can actually make the job. Therefore it's simply not good enough for a new amplifier for 2018 that such basic functions is not support !
The reason for looking at the Spider V was in fact the fact that it could replace my old Yamaha board, and my POD PRO XT. So for convience it would be great, but now the feature is no longer there. So the complete idea is gone I will stick to my Yamaha, POD Pro XT and Randall setup.
The nonadjustable tempo on the drum loops is a bummer, be sure to vote on ideascale! Another option would be to use the USB or AUX in on the back to play drums loops from an external device or even your phone. There's some really great drum loops apps available now, I really like Drum Genius.
I agree that it's disappointing not to be able to change the drum loop tempo, but, at the same time I would not say it's totally useless or just stuffed in for marketing purposes. It does make it fun when exploring new sounds and testing riffs when practicing alone, and like someone else mentioned, if you connect to software you'd end up using other drum machines and effects anyway. Lastly, I think the main reason you can't change the tempo is 'cause the drums are LIVE tracks and the sound of the drums would get higher or lower in tone depending on the tempo change. You know, Alvin and the chipmunks at high speed or a blob sludge monster at low speed, lol. Anyway, just my two cents. I didn't really buy my V60 with drums in mind so to me it's still a quality add on and I'm happy to have it, but I also agree, the ability to change tempo some how would be nice.
Like was said above, there are a lot of different metronome selections that are all fully adjustable. And there are a lot of different drum loops with lots of varying tempos. It is not just three or four drum loops, and that is it -- way more than that. But, please post what you end up deciding on. I know I am interested.
I am a retired session musician and have started to use Cubase for making demos. Although I find the facilities in Cubase unbelievable I also find it ridiculously over complicated and that is also speaking as a retired Microsoft Engineer.
All I want to do is create a very simple drum loop and stick it on a track which took me 10 minutes to learn on a drum machine. I wasted an entire day yesterday looking at instructions and videos which seem to be geared towards people who already have a knowledge of Cubase and who want to spend their lives fiddling with sounds rather than creating music.
check you tube for editing drums n try those things, its little challenging but not impossible, i find d manual not so lucid, try getting on forums of homerecording, gearslutz theres lot of good help there.
honestly people r not helpful here, its foolish for them so queries get dumped.
or
Create a part in cubase. Fill it with notes (reording or editing) and drag the part to GrooveAgent.
Or
select a pattern within GA, and use the GA-editor to edit the pattern. To clear the pattern delete all events.
Go to groovemonkee.com and download the free GA4 loops, not as much for the loops but for the maual that I have written. It will show with pictures/answer most of your questions , except for loop recording. In order to get loop recording you need to activate the loop function in Cubase. This is a two step process. In the transport interface you activate the loop button. You will find it in the same section as play, step forward, backwards. Then you go to your timeline of the project and drag the little icon for as many bars as you would want to record. If you drag it the wrong way the section marked will turn transparent red, if you do it the right way it will be colored transparent blue. Another way is to draw a Midi section on your GA4 track for a many bars you would like to record. (it will be empty with no drum hits). Single click it and hot P on the keyboard. This will color the section transparent blue (same as before mentioned) and this will be the section that loops.
There are are no additional drum beats/loops at this time with Spider V. But if you have other software or sources for drum loops you can play them thru Spider V via the aux or USB in and still get great reproduction with the speaker+tweeter combo.
It is not possible to add more riffs. Spider V comes loaded with 4 demo riffs in various styles. The volume of the demo riff cannot be changed. The overall volume is controlled by the amp model, start by turning down the volume on the amp model.
To change from demo riff to a metronome or drum beat: Use the rotary scroll knob to select icon on the left portion of the screen, then press the rotary scroll knob to switch between demo riff, metronome, and drum tracks.
In Beatbuddy manager the manual states there is an X on the right hand side of a song in the editor to either delete the whole song or delete individual main loops.
On my screen there is no X in the box to delete the song or in the box to delete an individual loop.
Has this facility been removed?? or is there another way to delete a main loop in a song.
Your screen shot (thanks for providing), shows the Xs in the upper right corners of your song sections. Assuming you have the latest version BeatBuddy Manager (BBM) version available when clicking on any one of those Xs, it does not remove the section?

You can remove an entire song by using the BBM, highlight the song in the Project Explorer, (right pane) and use the BBM menu > Songs > Delete Song.
I tried that way to delete a main loop, drum fill etc which works OK. But I still have the problem that the song will not play or save with an empty main loop. See attached screen shot of message.
Is there a way to delete a main loop (including fill, transition & accent) that I do not need?
I do not wish to delete the entire song just one part of it, leaving the rest.
regards, Kevin

I have read the version of the beat buddy manager manual that comes up online from the forum. it still states that you can delete a main loop by pressing the X on the right hand side of the screen!!
I did try to find the information about working with main loops before going on to this forum but it seems that your manuals are out of date and the video tutorials that I have looked are also similarly based on older versions of the BB manager software.
Maybe it would be helpful to get your basics right and update the manuals and video tutorials to reflect the latest version of your software.
On iOS I use Drum Beats +. It has various patterns available without paying including several blues rhythms which I wanted. It is easy to change the bpm when using the app and there are several drum sound options but I only use one.
I use it now in place of a metronome for almost everything.
In the old days (Sonar 8.5) I could take a Boss drum machine output rhythm set to the same tempo as SONAR, record a measure in SONAR, and then easily copy/paste that measure many times. I would right click on the single MIDI measure, change the # of beats in the Property menu to 8 or whatever, turn on Groove Clip Looping, copy the measure, make snap properties 'musical time' set to Whole Notes, and then paste it at the end of the measure 99 times or whatever. This basic technique came from an old SONAR forum post.
