All,

Over the next 1-2 weeks several church youth groups are coming to New Orleans to participate in service projects. One of the projects they selected was painting at Burke Park. We met with the artist leading this effort. The plans are to finish the painting of the black iron fence around the park. The other part of their plans is to repaint the bathroom and concessions buildings. They plan to take the rainbow effect of the steps and carry it up the side of the building and over the roof. They will also paint a crab mural facing the basketball court. These plans have been reviewed by NORD.

I encourage all of you to take the opportunity to go by the park and thank the volunteers for their efforts.
