Hello, I am trying to install mac OS X on Hyper-V with Windows 10 Host. Can it be done? Does Hyper-V Manager have an unlocker? Should I use an ISO? I am a member of Apple's Beta Software Program and I would like to use my macOS Sierra on a VM. I know you can do it on VMware and Virtual Box but I havent found anything on Hyper-V. Can anyone help? Please respond. Thanks

There is a possibility now use Hyper-V on Windows 10 using OpenCore. I tried a couple of ideas but did not go far enough. Any ideas are welcome. not sure how to use OpenCore to boot Hyver-V. Here is the link to Hyver-V kext

Then re-created installer.vhdx (a bit confusing process: on Mac create USB installer from Catalina.app, use SuperDuper to create image from USB (Diskutil cannot do it, it seems), use Diskutil to convert the .dmg to read-write dmg, then do the required qemu-img convert -f raw -O vhdx Installer.dmg Installer.vhdx)

I've seen it work using Acidanthera's MacHyperVSupport. It's generally a pretty barebones setup. Just need VirtualSMC.kext and MacHyperVSupport.kext. There are some additional info given under the readme for that kext as well.
If your on an AMD host though, it requires the AMD patches plus an additional one, since a lot of the CPUID info is passed through from the host.

I haven't quite managed it on my AMD system yet. Recovery boots fine, but all my internet recovery installs fail at varying points so it's kinda confusing where it's failing on my end.

I've gotten it working on my desktop. Some things to keep in mind:
1) Some of the SSDTs have ACPI patches - make sure to read the headers on these before compiling.
2) AMD desktops require an extra patch in addition to many of the other normal AMD-OSX patches.

I have been on a desktop OS and tools journey for the last six or nine months. Long story short, my 2012 Retina MacBook Pro gave up the ghost in a most unpleasant way. I grabbed a System76 laptop, and gave Linux on the desktop a shot for a little while. Eventually I repaved that and moved to Windows 10 full time. As part of that, I enabled WSL 2, which breaks VMware desktop products. No biggie, one can convert VMs, right?

The command tells qemu-img to convert the VMDK specified in PathToVMDK with an output type (-O vhdx) of vhdx and store the resulting image at PathToVHDX. The -p tells qemu-img to display the progress as it converts. You will need to change the PathTo variables to reflect your environment.

Note: There are some tools that will do this in PowerShell [2] [3]. However, they can be rather flaky depending on the source VMDK. qemu-img was quite a bit more robust in this regard.

The Hyper-V integration services will generally be installed seamlessly via Windows Update. If this is not the case, or you are using an older version of Windows, download the integration tools [4], and then use the following command from an elevated command prompt to install them:

I am having a dynamic VHD file that was created in the Windows server 2012 via Hypervisor program. Since currently my server machine is not available with me so, can I use this tool to open VHD file on Windows 8 PC?

Planning on greeting M1 MBA, (..now VMWare can natively run), and signed up to Windows Insider Program, last night, to download Windows 11. but they only offer .vhdx (Hyper-V). I really don't want to install Homebrew on brand new Mac so is there any other tools I can use to convert .vhdx to .vmdk as I do not think VMware will import/convert "as is"
