Special Event Update! If you have one of our 2011 wall calendars, you may have noticed our annual garage sale was previously scheduled for the last weekend of May ... only to be cancelled this spring. We're excited to announce a new date and location have been found at last! Have items to donate for our garage sale to be held June 10 and 11? First chance for donation drop-offs is tomorrow, May 28, from 12-2 p.m. The location for this year's sale (and the place to drop off your donations) is just north of the intersection of 31st & Haskell (see map). It's a yellow building with three big bay doors. Future times will be announced when available. Or schedule a time to drop off your items by sending us an e-mail or just call 785-766-2314. Due to storage space limitations, we ask that items donated for the garage sale NOT be dropped at the animal shelter, thank you! All donated items must be complete and in good, working condition. Specifically, we would benefit greatly from donations of furniture, antiques, collectibles, art, electronics, sports & recreation items, household items, office supplies, toys, games, puzzles, videos, DVDs, tools, lawn & garden equipment and books. (No clothing please.) The Lawrence Humane Society annual garage sale raises money for our animal care, supplies, equipment, building maintenance and many other critical expenses. It's a great opportunity to clean out your attic, basement, or garage ... and help the animals at the same time!
