Shelter Updates
Looking for a job?
The Lawrence Humane Society is a challenging and rewarding place to work if you like to be around animals. Currently open positions include animal care associates and canine care coordinator. To apply or find out more, please check out the jobs area of our Web site.
More foster parents needed
We've been able to provide many temporary homes for kittens and pets recovering from illness or injury this spring, thanks to our many generous foster parents. But we still need more homes willing to care for shelter animals. Please contact our volunteer coordinator, Maggie, to learn more.
Cats from our shelter now in Topeka, too
Starting this month, the Lawrence Humane Society has cats available for adoption at the Topeka Petco, 1930 SW Wanamaker Rd., (785) 228-1000. This effort is in addition to the felines we've had on display for several months at the Lawrence Petco, 3115 Iowa. These are adult felines, have been feline leukemia tested, spayed/neutered, and are microchipped. They're ready to go home!
Come by for a visit with the executive director
Dori Villalon, executive director of the Lawrence Humane Society, offers new public drop-in office hours every Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. Stop by with your questions, suggestions, or to simply chat about what's happening at Lawrence Humane Society.
Please use the comment line on the donation form to send a note to the shelter with your gift.
All gifts to the Lawrence Humane Society are greatly appreciated and help us provide outstanding care and sheltering for the animals.
Immediate Needs
The shelter is in need of paper towels, bleach and laundry detergent. We always use large amounts of these supplies, but this time of year they go more quickly. Any donations are tremendously helpful and appreciated. Or use the button to the right to send a gift online.
Hope to see you this evening!
