As I mentioned at the end of last night, I'd like to get together
someday soon and contribute to the Rails community by fixing an
outstanding bug or two.

To determine the best dates, I hastily made this poll:

I think the back of the bar at Ingredient would work well (wifi,
outlets, big tables, comfy couches, cold beer without getting off of
said couches, good menu, locally owned, quiet enough to have
conversations). But some place like the library would also be okay.

If you're interested in background, here's what Wikipedia says about
code sprints: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprint_(software_development)

Does Sunday, 10/25 not work for anyone?

If that date won't work for you, kindly take two minutes and vote
here: http://www.doodle.com/xq8bfp4krps3y5ck Thanks!

Also, it looks like the django-type follks will be doing something
similar later this year: http://www.travisswicegood.com/index.php/2009/10/18/lawrence-programmers-hack-nights
I imagine there will be a need for documentation, design, testing,
etc. so not being proficient with python shouldn't deter one from
participating.

Doh! I'll update my blog post to mention this and hopefully get some
extra exposure.

And don't call me a django-type person. I'm Swiss, damnit! :-D

Seriously though, that's why I mentioned rotating languages if we do a
hackathon on a project. We have people who are proficient enough in
PHP, Python, and Ruby to help lead projects if we go that route, so we
could very easily switch up what language/project we're working on
each time.

A conflict came up for 10/25 over the weekend--I may just need to
arrive about 30-45 minutes late to the sprint.
