Howdy all,

Just a follow-up on the discussion the other night at Henry T's.
Talked with Nate and he had some ideas on a date --- wanna share Nate?

Eric, you're taking charge of the library right? The galleria is
probably our best bet. We'll also need to make sure we've got the
video projector secured for the day. Can you get with them and let us
know what times they have available? That might limit when we can
make this all come together.

Also, after you left Eric we settled on a topic. Debugging in Your
Language. The idea is to get a bunch of people who work in a
particular language to demo how to do step-thru debugging (or
something better if their language supports it). We've got Ruby (I
think Aaron got volunteered for that), Python (Chris Dickinson), PHP
(John Kary), Javascript (me), Erlang (me), and .NET (Tim Hubbard).

Anyone else got anything they'd like to show? Possibly something
specific to Rails, Django, etc., that isn't part of the core debugging
suite? django-debug-toolbar would be a good example. It's not a step-
thru debugger, but provides lots of interesting information about the
environment to help understand what's going on. I imagine there's
something similar for Rails as well.

I'll try to find some time to look into django-debug-toolbar by then.
It's been on my todo list for awhile.

There's also gdb to debug C++. I've used it before, but it's not
something I'd ever like to do again, haha.

Sorry for the delay.

Yes, I will check into the library this week. Nate had mentioned going
to the Kansas City Ruby User Group tomorrow. Not sure if that is still
on, but I noticed that tomorrow's KCRUG meeting is a social event. If
the intention was to go and check out their format, tomorrow might not
be best (I can't go tomorrow, but am planning on going in January).

Travis and I will be going tonight. Possibly with a wife or two.

Feel free to ping one of us if you'd like to come with.

I hate to do this, but I need to bow out of being in charge of finding
a location. Sorry about that.

No worries. I'll get in touch with them and get us a few days as
options. At this point, it'll probably be Monday before I have the
times, but I'll email as soon as I have it.

It does seem as though this is more of a board programming discussion
rather than a Ruby-centric one. Is this weekend example day being
discussed with LPDN as well?

I have contacted a few of them directly to determine out who would be
up for doing a demo.

I was waiting until we had a time (and ideally a place) that the
presenters, Ben, Noah and any out-of-towners could make before I
started publicizing it in earnest.
