Who's up for meeting tonight at 6 p.m., Henry T's?

I'm starting to think that in the summer, maybe the group should go on
hiatus. Thoughts?

By the way, check out While You Were On Facebook: http://whileyouwereonfacebook.com

As much as I would like to be there tonight, I'm out.

I have kickball practice Thursdays at 6pm during the summer. (And when
that's rained out, I am faced with the choice of borrowing my wife's
car or soggily scooting up to Henry T's from the other side of town.)

Does it make sense to piggyback on LPDN?
Or maybe reschedule these to Johnny's North, Saturdays at 1pm?

Noah: When would work best for you?

I'm inclined to think if we go on hiatus for summer we may as well
disband. People are always going to have things going on; I'll have
more conflicts in the fall and winter. I would be open to switching to
a different night, keeping in mind that as seasons and personal
schedules change we might need to adjust.

Just throwing my two cents out there as someone who's participated in user groups around the country.

It generally works best to find the night that works ok enough for the most people who are helping to organize and stick to it.  It gives the passers by something to count on.  Unfortunately, that means you randomly miss people for a few months as their schedules at work and/or school change, but it provides some stability for people who aren't part of the core group.  "Oh, tonight's the 4th Thursday, I can hit the RUG group at ABC's."

Random aside, at TekX's Community Panel this year, someone brought up holding user group meetings at a bar.  Granted, Johnny's andHenry T's lean more toward restaurant than bar, but there's the potential of scaring off younger members (or their parents permission) and any members that probably (as one person put it) "shouldn't be around alcohol".  Just food for thought.

How about a reverse hiatus where we meet every Wednesday 6pm at Johnny's North?

Eric: Can you meet then? Are Mondays better?
