Hey gardeners,
I don't know if anyone is planning on working in the garden on Sunday, but I'm thinking about doing some wildflower planting in the butterfly garden on Sunday afternoon, weather permitting. I pre-ordered native plants from Grassland Heritage Foundation that I'm picking up tomorrow at their booth in South Park. I sort of went plant crazy (like that's a stretch, har, har) but I ordered:
Rattlesnake master
Grey headed coneflower
Orange coneflower
Long bracted spiderwort
Leadplant
Yellow coneflower
Blue indigo
Cream wild indigo
Woodland phlox
Dotted blazing star
I didn't order any purple coneflower or milkweed because I'm happy to say that we already have those plants established. Now for some more showy natives. :)
I need to find out how cold sensitive these plants will be from the experts there tomorrow, but since the weather forecast is kind of meh for the next week, I may need to delay the planting by a week or so, but I'd rather get them in the ground if at all possible.
Best,
Danielle
