Hey everybody,

I hope you all have been enjoying the nice weather!  I just wanted to let you all know that we are planning the first "official" workday at the garden on Sunday, March 30 from noon-5. It would be great if any of you could make it out! Dr. Shannon Criss, a professor in Architecture, Design, and Planning and a student farm member, has offered the help of the students in one of her classes who are in need of service learning hours.  We are all very grateful for this, as this is a tremendous opportunity to get a lot of the clean-up work done.  I am going to send an email out to our student farm members and hopefully rally more volunteers. I do not know how many students Dr. Criss will get to come help, but either way I need to make a rough plan in order to effectively get all of the work done.
Weather permitting, I will be at the garden this Saturday morning/afternoon to do a quick inventory of tools and equipment to make sure there are enough shovels, pitchforks, and etc. for students to use on this workday.  If any of you are free on Saturday, I would love to meet with you at the garden and share thoughts on general priorities for this workday.  So far, I am thinking that the trash needs to be cleaned up, the shed needs to be cleaned/organized, and the ivy on the east fence needs to be dug out to make way for garden beds.  There are a million potential tasks, so any input or thoughts would be very helpful and appreciated!  I am super excited to clean up this space and get ready for an awesome season :)

Please share any thoughts, comments, or questions about this.  And if you are interested in meeting and talking sometime this weekend, please let me know and I will be flexible!

Best,
Becky
