Alan Dershowitz denounces George Zimmerman's (Z) Florida Prosecutor in his New York Daily News article.  He explains that the trial revealed convincing evidence that Trayvon Martin (M) bashed Z in the face and tried to break his skull on the pavement, for which Z shot him.  Dershowitz explained that even if Z had provoked M, the beating still gave Z the right to shoot M in self-defense.

"
There is, of course, no assurance that the special prosecutor handling the case, State Attorney Angela Corey, will do the right thing. Because until now, her actions have been anything but ethical, lawful and professional." Dershowitz wrote.

"She was aware when she submitted an affidavit that it did not contain the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. She deliberately withheld evidence that supported Zimmerman’s claim of self-defense. The New York Times has reported that the police had “a full face picture” of Zimmerman, before paramedics treated him, that showed “a bloodied nose.” The prosecutor also had photographic evidence of bruises to the back of his head."

Derschowitz says the prosecutor ought to drop the second degree murder charge on the basis of the evidence, if valid.

The famous defense attorney did not say what ought to have become obvious to anyone watching this case:  Z should sue M's parents for their negligence in letting their 17-year-old son engage in thuggery on the dark and stormy night in question.  Under tort law, they might bear responsibility for their minor son's actions and all the costs and injuries Z suffered as a consequence.

This case should become a lesson to ALL parents of thuggish teens:  GET YOUR KIDS UNDER CONTROL, OR LOSE THEM.

It should also wipe the smirk off the faces of RACIST black activists who caused racial strife over the fact that whitish Z killed blackish M.  The activists, including Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, a Black Panther leader, Spike Lee, and several legislators, alleged racist motivation to the killing, and seemed intent upon labeling it as a hate crime.  They demanded the illogical arrest of Z, so the Florida A.G. and prosecutor caved in to their pressure, which they should not have done.

Will those activists remain silent over their error?  Or will they insist that that parents curb their teens' thuggish tendencies?  If they do, which I doubt, fewer black teens will lose their lives as a consequence of behaving brutally toward others.  The same goes for teens of all races.
