Greetings Law Family,

The Student Law review being the flagship publication of the Law Society for the past two decades. The aim of the review is to publish research that will further our understanding and knowledge of all areas of law, with particular reference to those areas as they exist and are developing within the Commonwealth Caribbean.

Thus, the Law Society is requesting submissions from its membership to be published in the law review. This request is being made particularly to final year students who would have either done or are planning on doing independent research papers or those who have done or who are planning to do courses which require them to do term assignments.

Submissions would be greatly appreciated and it should indeed be seen as an honour  to be published in one of the University’s most prominent publications.

Persons interested in submitting their work should submit their name and contact information as well as a brief description of the piece to:

pcc.uwil...@gmail.com

The Publications Committee is requesting submissions to be published in the LAW LINES, for the January/February Edition of the society’s newsletter.  Persons interested in submitting pieces of poetry, commentary on current Caribbean or international legal and political affairs or other literary pieces of interest are asked to contact the Publications Committee Chair at:

pcc.uwil...@gmail.com

Additionally, the Law Society is instituting a new initiative to be published in the Law Lines entitled:

 “ THANKS A MILLION”,

This page in the Law Lines will be dedicated to showing appreciation for those among us who would have helped us to make it through the past semester. Members would submit the names of those persons who they believe deserve special mention for being a pillar of strength to them. However if you do not wish to be mentioned by name for nominating that person the nominee’s name would simply be featured without mention of who it is from.

The initiative seeks to strengthen the bonds found in the law family and all members are kindly asked to participate. Nominations may be sent to

pcc.uwil...@gmail.com by January 20th 2010.

FACULTY YEARBOOK

The Faculty yearbook is a ‘must have’ memento for all final year students. This yearbook will encompass yearbook superlatives, display stories of their fondest memories and most embarrassing moments while on campus, pictures of the ‘Law Family’ during their years at the Faculty, ‘nick names’ of their colleagues etc.   The yearbook would also include group pictures of each year level and individual pictures of final year students within the faculty.

Those persons who are interested in being on the Faculty Yearbook Committee are asked to contact the Publications Committee Chair at:

pcc.uwil...@gmail.com

The Law Society is also asking persons to submit pictures for entry into the Yearbook. These photos may be sent to pcc.uwil...@gmail.com or submitted on a CD. If persons would prefer to simply transfer the files via flash drive or memory card provisions for this may also be made.

Thank you for your co-operation and I look forward to your participation.
