Dear Group members of the CRN Law & Indigeneity,

Greetings. My name is Rosalee Gonzalez, Xicana-Kickapoo and a scholar-activist.  Last year, I earned my PhD at ASU Justice & Social Inquiry.  My dissertation was on Indigenous Women social movements and the UN system.   I am interested in collaborating with others who may be interested in putting together a panel on any of the following themes:  Indigenous women, Indigenous Peoples rights, the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and/or United Nations System (including NGOs and Treaty Bodies).

Please contact me if you study any of these general areas and would like to work together for LSA.

Warm regards,
Rosalee

    Dear CRN Law and Indigeneity,

Please see the message below from the conference organizers. The LSA's 50th anniversary meeting is taking place in Minnesota May 29 – June 1.
If you are interested in organizing a panel or submitting a paper as part of the CRN please consider using this list to organize submissions. It would be wonderful to have a strong showing of Law and Indigeneity panels and papers at this conference.

Please note the submission deadline is early and firm on October 15, 2013.

Each CRN may expect that a maximum of four panels will be scheduled non-concurrently, but CRNs are welcome to submit more panels. A CRN with more than four panels is free to make the case for which panels should be scheduled concurrently and non-concurrently by emailing Meeting Manager Kris Monty atm...@lawandsociety.org<mailto:mo...@lawandsociety.org>

The Program Committee will, however, have discretion to make final decisions, including, but not limited to, adding an open submission paper to a CRN panel, which will help connect new attendees to pertinent CRNs.

This policy was in the website of the Call for Proposals sent August 30 http://www.lawandsociety.org/minneapolis2014/2014CRN.html but I take a moment to drop you this note since this is an important change from previous years.

Also, I urge you to review the website for the changes in timing for submission of proposals. Briefly, these dates are:

August – start Call for Proposals
October 15 – Submission deadline, no new submissions
    December 16 – Acceptance emailed
January 6 – Registration starts, Ready Room available
February 14 - Registration deadline for program participants
March 14 – Preliminary Program is online
April 15 –No more changes accepted for printed program.

    All the best.
    Many thanks.
    Jane
