Dear friends,

Please find attached a motion on climate change policy, which was unanimously adopted by the World Congress of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) in Mexico City a moment ago.

I think it represents a huge step forward for climate change policies in the international trade union movement. Of course, there are still weaknesses, and it can be a huge gap between words and actions. Anyway, it gives us a solid basis to pressure for actions and strategies which can direct us in a correct direction.

The discussion document, which was developed by an ITF working group on climate change (which I have had the honour to chair), can be found in many languages here: http://www.itfcongress2010.org/documents.cfm/languageID/1 (you find it under C in the left column – you can change languages at the very top left of the page). Both documents are now made public, so you can distribute them as you like.

All the best
