Opening .sav files using Lavaan's package

Hello. Can anyone provide instructions on how to open a file from SPSS via R (not R studio)? This information and videos I see are dated and not helpful.

Not really about lavaan but I did something like this a lot when introducing lavaan to AMOS/SPSS users ....
