1) Volunteer for a Federal Election campaign!

Anyone who lives in Kitchener-Waterloo and wants to be involved with a
local candidate in the Federal Election, please email Ravi Gokani at

2) Stand up for Mental Health:

Thursday, March 31 at 8:00pm - April 1 at 12:00am (Wilf's)
Burst Your Bubble presents a night of comedy and music in support of
mental health at WLU! Highlights of the evening include:
- a Stand Up for Mental Health comedy performance by David Granirer
- live music by ROGUE6IX
- tons of prizes and free food!!
Please come out and support Mental Health at Laurier!




3) Collaborative Research for Community Change: Three Perspectives -
Community & University Partnerships at Work.

The Wilfrid Laurier Centre for Community Research, Learning and Action
will hosting a CU Expo Pre-Conference Discussion entitled:
Collaborative Research for Community Change: Three Perspectives -
Community & University Partnerships at Work.

Get inspired to engage in research as a vehicle for community and
policy change. Join in small group discussions and help develop a
three perspective guide to community change.

4) Calling all artists!

A Peace of Art is a local art show celebrating peace within ourselves
and peace within our community. It is happening at Cafe Pyrus from
April 15th to 21st - Art will be on display and for sale all week and
we have some planned events to add to the celebration.
We are still looking for people to submit art based on that theme!

5) International Youth Internship Program

Rooftops Canada is extending the call for applications for two
communications positions in Johannesburg, South Africa, under our 2011
International Youth Internship Program. This six-month internship
program is part of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment
Strategy, facilitated by the Canadian International Development
Agency’s Partnership with Canadians Program. To be eligible,
candidates must have graduated from college or university and be
between the ages of 19 and 30. Interns will depart in April or May
2011.

Our Centre has just launched a social media campaign called “No one
asks for it! Wear purple on Friday, May 6th 2011!” The intent of this
campaign is to start dialogue in communities across Canada in
recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
