Hi All,

Hope all is well. We would like to give you updates on where we stand about Diwali event planning. We have put together significant amount of time in to it this week, and considering all the variables including getting a venue and availability, we would like to list out the three following possible options and we need your vote which will help us to decide the venue and times.

Here are the options:

  1. Sitar Indian Cuisine, Alpharetta  - Available on Saturday, 5th November evening. Their package is ($15/Adult, $8/kids (4-10 years)
  2. Chennai express, Alpharetta -  Available on Saturday, 5th November [11am-3pm only] - Their package is $18/person, $9/kids (4-9 years)
  3. Banquet hall at Forsyth country parks in Cumming  - Available from 1-6 pm. Their package  is $350 for 4 hrs (1-5 pm) with kitchen. We can order food from outside of our choice. The expected expenses will be around $1450 all together ($350 hall rent +$900 food + $200 miscellaneous). The dollar amount/family  will be determined and communicated if this is the choice.

Please let us know your options by EOD Tuesday or ASAP, which will help us to lock the venue. We will go ahead and book the venue tomorrow evening based on the response rates.

We will send a formal evite once we confirm the venue and time.

I am creating a survey monkey poll so that you can vote your option there. Your vote will remain anonymous. You can either vote using that link or you can just email your choice of preference to Mahesh and Srikanth.

We will appreciate your voting ASAP. And also want to request if any one has any questions or comments, Please DO NOT reply back to this group. You can send your inputs or questions directly to Srikan...@yahoo.com and barre....@gmail.com

Thanks,

Srikanth Kari

Hi All,

Quick update! Based on the responses and feedback, we are able to finalize the venue.

We will be going with option 3 which is a banquet hall in Cumming for Diwali Lunch (12pm - 6pm) on 11/05, Saturday.

We hope everyone will make time on that day to attend and make this community event a successful one.

We are working on details on food options, and will provide you the dollar amount and the contacts of people who will be collecting the money.

We will be sending an evite soon and your timely response will be much appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,

Mahesh & Srikanth.

Hello All,

Thank you for the responses in evite. Based on the responses so far and the estimated count, we are planning to collect for the Diwali party in the following way:

$75/family of 4 and $125/family of 6.

We are able to purchase the fireworks using last year’s Diwali funds.

I am trying to work out a good price on food from Bawarchi and hopefully we will get the # of items we are looking for the budget we are in.

As we are in to one week, please pay the money in next 2 days so that we need to keep the things in track.

Please contact Srikanth and/or Mahesh for any questions.

Thanks & Regards,

LH-Social Committe.

Just a quick update:

We got a total count of just 14 families. Due to the less participation, there has been a collective decision made to move the party from community hall to outdoors at Sharon park on the same day. The communication has been sent already to the families, who accepted the evite. Please contact Srikanth and/or Mahesh for any questions.

Thanks,

LH-Social committee.
