Dear Friends,
As so many of you are aware, DeKalb County desperately needs fundamental change in its Board of Education. For too many years, this Board has not focused on what should be its primary mission: providing the highest quality education to all of our students in a fiscally responsible manner. Instead, this Board has pursued petty and unproductive divisions and demonstrated stunning financial mismanagment. This Board, including the incumbent against whom I am running, has wasted millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars on expensive lawsuits and criminal lawyers, when that money should have been guarded diligently for the education of students across
DeKalb. This Board argues and accuses, while while student achievement and teacher morale have dipped to unprecedented levels. It is past time for a change. We need new, better leadership in our Board of Education.
I am running to serve DeKalb County in the District 2 seat on the Board because I care to my core about providing the highest quality public education, and the profound and positive impact a great public school system can have, not just on its students, but on DeKalb County's potential for job growth and economic success. My two children attend public schools in DeKalb, and as a parent, I fully understand the changes that need to be made. I believe that my business experience as a lawyer and an executve with Turner Broadcasting, coupled with my passion for best practices and best outcomes in our schools and my commitment to building consensus, make me well-suited to take the Board of
Education in a new and better direction.
I invite you to please visit
