Hey everyone, I've recently switched from an iPhone to an Android device and I'm facing a bit of a challenge that I hope some of you might be able to help with. My main concern is transferring all my WhatsApp chats from my old iPhone to my new Android phone. I've heard that it's possible to do this using a cable, which sounds like a straightforward and secure method. However, I'm not exactly sure how to go about it and I'm worried about losing some important conversations in the process. If anyone has experience with this or knows the steps to successfully transfer WhatsApp chats via cable, I would really appreciate your guidance and advice. Thanks in advance for your help!

4. Your Android device will guide you through the process. You may need to scan a QR code displayed on the Android device with the iPhone. This QR code will open WhatsApp and start the transfer process.

5. Continue with the setup of your Android device. Once the setup is complete and you open WhatsApp, you'll be prompted to log in to your account. After logging in, WhatsApp will begin restoring the data transferred from your iPhone.

This feature was a significant update from WhatsApp, addressing a long-standing issue for users switching between iOS and Android. If you encounter any issues during the transfer, make sure both of your devices have the latest software updates and the latest version of WhatsApp.

You can try alternative methods that involve using cloud storage services like Google Drive or iCloud to back up your WhatsApp chats on the iPhone and then restore them on the Android device. However, note that these methods may not involve a direct cable transfer. Here are the general steps for using cloud storage services:

While these methods may not involve a direct cable transfer, they provide a free option to transfer WhatsApp chats from iPhone to Android. Remember to check the documentation or guides provided by WhatsApp for detailed instructions on using their backup and restore features with specific cloud storage services.

If you want to transfer your WhatsApp chat history when you switch to a new phone, there are several solutions. The easiest option is to transfer your WhatsApp data to a new phone by restoring your data from Google Drive.

If you have a Google account, you are able to transfer WhatsApp between two phones via Google Drive. Since WhatsApp backs up all your messages and photos to Google Drive by default, transferring WhatsApp to your new phone in this way provides an easy solution. The transferring process consists of two stages; first, you need to back up your WhatsApp messages, and then transfer it to another Samsung device.

If you are making the switch from an iPhone to Samsung Galaxy device and looking to move WhatsApp to your new phone, we recommend that you transfer your WhatsApp data via Google Drive, following the instructions above.

I recently changed smartphones from an unknown to Samsung, and I've lost my WhatsApp conversations. I want them on the new phone. I have reinstalled it on the new phone, and the msgstore.db.crypt files are there, but WhatsApp does not read the older conversations back.

In case you didn't come right, I had the same issue.Uninstall Whatsapp from the NEW phone (start blank)Copy the /Whatsapp folder from your SD card to the new phone (I had to do this because Whatsapp on my new phone was installed to the INTERNAL card, not the SD card, so the upgrade didn't find the old store)I also copied the android/data/com.whatsapp folder for good luckInstall Whatsapp on the new phone. After account creation, it should detect the old messages and restore them.

Yes. WhatsApp Messenger offers backup and restore options. You can backup your chats to an encryted file(now *.db.crypt5) or restore chats from backup file back to your android. But restoring history from a backup would wipe your current chats with those in the backup.

If you want to install Whatsapp on a new phone, you have to make a backup on the old phone, then copy the Whatsapp directory on the new phone, install Whatsapp and when prompted choose to recover from existing backup.

To transfer WhatsApp to a new phone, backup your archive first. To transfer via QR code, go to Settings > Chats > Transfer chats on your old device and follow the instructions. To transfer via backup, uninstall WhatsApp from the old phone, and install it on the new phone. When setting up WhatsApp on the new phone, choose to restore a backup and follow the on-screen instructions.

iOS is the same, except the user interface is slightly different, and you would be backing up solely to iCloud. After going to Settings > Chats > Chat backup, tap Back Up Now to make an archive backup to the cloud.

You will be asked around this time to enter your two-factor authentication code (if you have one). Once entered, the time it takes for the archive to be installed will depend on the file size and your internet connection speed. Just be patient.

Change the file name to msgstore_BACKUP.db.crypt14. Select the most recently dated backup file in the Database folder and change its name to the previous file. In this case, it would be msgstore.db.crypt14.

Since there is only one possible method for an iPhone, it simplifies matters considerably. Once you are sure your backup has been completed on the old phone, uninstall WhatsApp, and go through the reinstallation process on the new phone, as we outlined in the Android section above.

After waiting an eternity, Facebook finally gave us an exporting app to transfer WhatsApp from Android to iPhone. But it will only work on new phones or factory reset phones. It also requires the Move to iOS app for your Android phone.

Also, a little disclaimer. I've never tried to transfer WhatsApp data in any way. I don't even use WhatsApp. Theoretically, my suggested method should work, but I've never tested it, nor have I read about others on here who've done the same thing. As I mentioned in step number 6, others have had issues restoring from a Google Drive backup. You could also run into other unforeseen issues that people on here might not be able to help you with. Ultimately, this is a WhatsApp restriction.

Provided you have the media directory for all your WhatsApp chats and media, you can restore them in GrapheneOS when you first install the app. Either from Google Cloud (the default), or by manually copying your WhatsApp folder to the WhatsApp media directory in the file explorer.

I believe on iOS, WhatsApp backs up to iCloud. Not sure if you can access the media and data directories from there and simply copy it to Google Drive manually. That might do the trick. And if not, you'd need to use the method @unwat suggests of using the transfer tool in stock OS, and then flashing GrapheneOS after.

For this I used a old Samsung Phone. With the smart switch App I migrated all of the WhatsApp chats from the iPhone to the Samsung. After that it was really easy to migrate from android to android. Just had to scan a QR-Code, wait some minutes and the process was done.

I have been trying to transfer photos and videos which were sent by whatsapp to sandisk ixpand flash drive but have been unable to do this, anyone know of any way in which I can transfer from whatsapp?

The program can be used to back up all the data on your device including Music, photos, videos, apps and their data, messages, call logs, contacts, SMSs and other data.
It can also be used to restore the backup you have created. You can also restore data from an iCloud backup file or an iTunes backup file.
It is compatible with all Android devices and Android OS.
Because it is a phone transfer tool, the program can also be used to transfer all types of data from one device to another.
You can use to selectively backup data on your device. This unique feature means that you can choose to back up one of the videos on your device instead of backing up all of them.
You can also restore data in a similar selective fashion because the program allows you to view the file in both the iCloud and iTunes Backup files.
You can also use the program to completely erase all the device on your data. This is an ideal feature if you want to sell or recycle your device.

I tried to transfer WhatsApp Business from Android to iPhone on Mac. I have tried various methods including using WhatsApp Business on both devices, trying to transfer using WhatsApp's native transfer mechanism, and experimenting with various third-party tools, but nothing seems to work. I have also tried connecting both devices to my Mac and using iTunes or Finder, however that did not work either.
I need your help. What do I do next?

Transferring WhatsApp Business from Android to iPhone has always been more complicated than it should be, due to the different backup systems each platform uses (Google Drive for Android and iCloud for iPhone).
