Hello Every one i am glad to be part of this community. As from past i have been using NI product and software. Recently i bought Maschine MK 3 and trying to explore this hardware. But recently i gave me one small issues. Whenever i open my maschine in stand alone mode or with daw it dosen't show any sound, libary, fx and loop.
I'm considering on buying a maschine + to get the work out of the studio. I make different stiles of music and usually I like to use classical instruments sounds like the ones that comes with komplete. It will be possible to work with them on maschine+?
Unfortunately this is not possible at the moment. Most of NI' s expansions will work with Maschine+ in standalone mode and some Kontakt instruments were ported for Maschine+. The Rest of Komplete Instruments won' t work, especially no 3rd party libraries.
Ya there needs to be a huge disclaimer about this... After paying $1400 for M+ I then spent another $500 on Komplete 13 only to find most (almost all) of the instruments can't be used with M+ in standalone. I thought it would work the same as when used as a Midi controller. Basically only the expansions work. I can't even load expansions into all 8 banks without overloading the CPU on M+. Disappointment after disappointment...
Thanks DeepThumb, I don't know so much about timing in this products, my instruments usually are a lot much older than me (and I'm not exactly young). I'm sure it's gonna be a lot of fun if I finally get it, but I would love the possibility to have an entire high quality orchestra in my hands when I'm out of the studio. I agree with you that the M+ is more powerful than I can imagine 'cause I'm also a limiting factor. Maybe it's a good idea to get it as a challenge!
Hey all, just upgraded to an M1 Mac and having some trouble getting my NI plugins to work with Logic. I'm trying to load up NI instruments within Maschine which I'm using as a virtual instrument within Logic, however I keep getting the error "[plugin] could not be loaded" with every instrument no matter what I try. I am able to get the individual sounds from NI expansion packs to load, however.
For reference, Native Access is updated to the Apple silicon version and my full NI library has been reinstalled and updated. When I open these instruments in Maschine as a standalone app they all work fine. It's only when I try to use an instance of Maschine within Logic that I get this issue.
Ok, so this means that some of the plug-ins you are using are not yet M1 natively compatible. Only Reaktor 6 still requires Rosetta and should get an update soon. Also check your third party plug-ins for M1 compatibility.
I have a huge problem with Maschine software. I create a new project, work on it, add various instruments, everything is okay. Next day, I open the same project that I created the previous day and various instruments that I recorded into this project completely change their pitch out of nowhere. The melodies in a piano roll stay the same as I recorded them yesterday (their sound also doesn't change EXCEPT FOR the pitch), but the instrument doesn't play a proper note (for instance, in the piano roll I have a note A but what I hear is not A note but for example G). It happens randomly - sometimes for one instrument, sometimes for two or three. Nothing happens in the rest of the project. However, the plugins that changed their pitch completely ruin the whole track as they are completely out of tune. First I thought that the problem only concerns Kontakt plugins but it has happened to Massive today so it's definitely a problem with the Maschine software. It happened once or twice that I reloaded the project and it came back to normal but very rarely, unfortunately. One (let's say) solution is to reload a plugin that changed the pitch but if I didn't save the patch/preset that I tweaked then I have to recreate the sound and it takes so long that I lose all the interest in working on the project.
What I mean is, perhaps your audio interface is set to a different sample rate then you are set to in your maschine preferences. Or, you are using a VST that has an internal sample rate setting that differs from that of your maschine (or your audio interface setting). Totally solvable, you just gotta check!
You are right about the timespan. But every DAW was Apple silicon native within almost a year, Bitwig beïng about the latest with the M1 update in June this year and they have a very small software team. Almost every other kind of software (image editing, word processing) is native too by months now. Not online Microsoft and Adobe with huge dev-teams. But also the ones from smaller companies like Capture ONE, Affinity Photo, etc.. So they could do it! It's a bit frustrating that you see a lot of new software products from NI released while current titles don't seem to develop. It's an odd choice in my view. Running a silicon native Maschine within Rosetta, thus eliminating the performance enhancements, to get your NI instruments running because there not ported yet is a bit of a bummer especially after 2 years and many other releases in that timespan. Especially now that I see how smooth Maschine is running natively. Snappy and fast. Great work NI! But please, push the pedal to the max to fix the rest.
I understand your pain but this is not a Maschine problem... It's a "Massive-X, FM8, Reaktor 6, Super 8" problem, as they will also not work in any other DAW that is native if those plugs aren't native.
There is also one aspect concerning what should be ported first. One needs native DAW to test if native plugin works well.... And plugin may work well in one DAW and not so well in another... Mainly if those are fresh ports... And Maschine is the both, plugin and "DAW".
I came across a post on YouTube talking about how native instruments on their comment section from their videos has been teasing about upcoming hardware and software updates, i went to check some of em and found them interesting:
Hi! I'm getting the same problem but with a Mikro MK3. I've buyed almost 2 months ago and never showed the maschine software neither download it. I've tried with and old copy of maschine from a firend and native access it recognized well, updated it and used to work fine but then I made a fresh windows installation and now it's not.I have different Komplete products on my profile but does not appears Maschine's software registered. I've entered the serial from the card that comes with the hardware but nothing and it's kind of frustrating. What can I do?
Making the Maschine software an actual DAW might kill the workflow philosophy of the software. On the other hand, a few adjustments might be very handy: for instance a better piano roll, a graphical EQ...Quality of life improvements that would help a lot but don't change the initial idea behind the application. For the time being I'm just hoping that Maschine and all other NI software will become Apple M1 native as soon as possible.
FWIW.. I had this problem and it was driving me crazy. I went through and cleared out a whole much of freebie plugins I had that I was never using, and the problem all of a sudden went away. IIRC, it was a vst2 plugin that was the same plugin name that I would always see when maschine was loading and hanging during scanning.
The most important thing for me is ability to focus entirely on music by turning knobs, faders and pushing buttons, like playing from real instruments, not touching DAW at all (I use Maschine standalone - please chek my video)
The Maschine software is designed to be used as a standalone production studio, or utilized as a plugin within a digital audio workstation. The software is primarily based on drum sequencing and designed for use with the Maschine line of hardware controllers. Users assign drum kits, instruments, and sounds from the included library to each of the controller's 16 pads, and can manipulate sounds further by applying effects and plugins. The software also includes tools to capture and manipulate audio samples in real-time. All functions can be performed without the use of a mouse, and instead directly from the hardware itself.[1] The 2.0 version of the software added multi-core CPU support, a new audio engine, the removal of plugin limits, and other upgrades to UI and audio effects.[14]
A selling point of Native Instruments' Maschine is the release of official expansions for the software's digital library on an ongoing basis.[23] Expansions are generally geared toward a specific genre of music, often containing several different virtual drum kits and instruments. The latest expansions also include presets for the Massive and Monark synthesizers, both of which are created and distributed by Native Instruments.[24] As well, many of the expansions have been released for the iMaschine and iMaschine 2 iOS apps, albeit streamlined for use on the mobile platform.[25][26]
Interesting! I am new to Native Instruments. I had no idea when they were made. In the last 5 months I have bought 5 controllers that are all old. I bought two MKI's, two Mikro MKII's, and one Mikro MKIII. I wish I would have did some research, because I could have just got a MKIII with the audio interface. I am disabled so my budget is limited. This concept is interesting, because most of them are only controllers and they all do the same thing basically from the software. It would be cool to link them, like the extra module idea is speaking about. You could assign different instruments to each set of pads and have multiple people playing along. I did not realize the Mikro's did not have Midi in and out, I have electric drum sets that I want to link the modules with also. The main thing I am missing is the audio interface that the MKIII has or the plus has.
