Hey there.
As you may have heard through the grapevine or seen on social media, the Latona is temporarily closed as of Monday, April 6th.
We cannot stress enough that this is a temporary measure that came from a place of protecting the health of our community, staff, friends, and families. It wasn't an easy decision, but we looked what all the scientists and data were saying, saw the peak of this thing approaching, and decided that it was the responsible thing to do.
You're important to us, and want to provide the safest and easiest way for you to get some of your favorite pub food and local craft beers.
Our time away is being used to brainstorm and plan for our reopening in early May (date TBD.) Creating an easy to use, streamlined online ordering system is important to that. Clear ordering guidelines and sanitation procedures beyond what we've already put in place are also a big piece of the puzzle. In addition to our draft beer to-go, we're putting together a fridge full of fresh, locally produced canned beverages (beer, wine, cocktails?!) that you'll be able to take home with your order.
In the meantime, if you'd like to support the Latona and its staff, there are couple of really effective ways to do that.
Gift certificates have become a lifeline for small businesses because they help us plan for the future. Any money spent at the Latona now, when we have little to no income, pays for immediate things like rent and utilities that still exist. It also helps pay for things in the future, like staff when can rehire them or ingredients and beer when we reopen. You can by gift certificates at

Speaking of the staff, if you'd like to support them directly, our friend Aaron Grzywinski put together a GoFundMe for their benefit. It's no secret that service industry employees rely on their tips to survive, so any donations are distributed to the bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff in the same way that tips would be under normal circumstances. We've already distributed about $3500 in funds and the staff is incredibly appreciative of your generosity. You can donate at
bit.ly/latonastaff.
Thank you, especially now, for making the Latona your neighborhood pub. We're determined to be there for you when this reopens, and your continued support means the world to us.
Stay safe, and be kind to your neighbor.
Cheers,
Matt
