I am writing to you to let you know I have met a kindred spirit. Her
name is Liz Parkinson, and she is learning Latin with a view to
reading and doing a PhD on Early Medieval History from the Latin texts
of Jerome, Geraldus Cambriensus, Geoffrey of Monmouth and the
Venerable Bede.

I am writing to you first to ask your permission for her to write to
