                                                    Get Ready 2 Read

Join us for an exciting family literacy program.

For parents and caregivers with children ages birth -5 years

 

This 16 -week program will cover the following:

·        Introduction to the learning process and learning styles

·        Learning readiness (the skills needed for success)

·        Developing strong home-library-community partnerships

·        Age appropriate hands on activities that promote healthy physical, social/emotional and cognitive development in children

·        Guest speakers on related topics

·        An introduction to various models that support child development and learning (Parent Child Mother Goose, HIPPY, Aboriginal HIPPY)

·        Introduction to Parenting skills and programs (e.g. Nobody’s Perfect, Virtues)

·        Identifying potential areas of challenge (e.g. Learning disabilities)

·        FREE on-site child-minding, beverages and healthy snacks.

·        All participants will receive a comprehensive resources to take home

 

Where: Grandview Terrace Childcare Centre
             2075 Woodland Drive, Vancouver, BC

When: Wednesdays and Fridays, 9:30 – 12noon

Dates: October 3^rd – February 8^th
