odd behavior of fancyhdr and amsart

Hi,

The fancy header works well the article style. But, once I change to
amsart, there is no header for the first page, other pages are fine.

Any idea how to make the header appear on the pages? or there is
another class I can use to short my reference section (this is why I
use amsart).

What is this class you use?
You could try creating the first page seperately i.e. using a different
class perhaps? Not very elegant I will admit but a possible work around?
