Hi everybody!

I'm writing my thesis and I would like to add a list of the symbols I use to name some things ( not all of them are very standard since the standard ones would superimpose, like n or p or \rho )

I came up with glossaries, which allows for having a list of symbols processed trough makeindex, complete with all the references etc. but i have some issues when i want to name something in the caption of a figure - try uncommenting the \gls{someSymbol} stuff in the example i attached to see what happens

does anyone have hints on how to make it work? I could bypass this but it's a matter of principle ;)

thanks everybody ;)

You'll have to explain to us what to do after running pdflatex.
What makeindex command must you run on what files to generate the glossaries?
