Hi,

I am trying to install the Yanone Kaffeesatz font set into my tex
setup but failing somewhat. I was following the instructions from
(http://www.ece.ucdavis.edu/~jowens/code/otfinst/) and using
otfinst.py. This all seemed to go well except that I noticed otftotfm:
encoding ‘texnansx’ not found. I am not sure if that is the problem or
how to change this? When I try and use the "built" font package I get
the following warnings and the font does not look as it should. Any
help would be much appreciated.

thanks

Martin

I don't have any OTF fonts yet and I'm not running XeTeX, so I don't have a direct answer. But TeX'n'ANSI is one of the many encoding vectors available for remapping virtual fonts, written by the now-defunct vendor Y&Y, Inc. -- texnansi.enc and its subset texnansx.enc should be on your system and findable; if not, you should install them (part of the fontname package, which you can download from CTAN) before trying the installation again.

I just checked and I definitely have it installed already

$ locate texnansx.enc

/usr/local/texlive/2010/texmf-dist/fonts/enc/dvips/base/texnansx.enc
