move frame title 1 cm down

Hello,
I'm using beamer with my university template..the problem is that the
frame title appears over the univ logo..I'd like to move it down of 1
or 2 cm...does anyone know how? I used \vspace{1cm} but it doesn't
work. This is the code (simpler than that is impossible):

\section*{Outline}
\frame{

\frametitle{\insertsection}

\nameslide{outline}

3 could be replaced by any number depending on the extent to which you wanna move

Nop, it says that 'there's no line here to end..I used the '\\'
command before, same results..thanks though.

put it a line earlier, if it is the spacing that you're worried abt, i've done this quite a lot of times. it works! else just mail me your code. will try sorting it out :)
