This document describes how to recover the enable password and the enable secret passwords. These passwords protect access to privileged EXEC and configuration modes. The enable password password can be recovered, but the enable secret password is encrypted and must be replaced with a new password. Use the procedure described in this document in order to replace the enable secret password.
The show running-config command shows the configuration of the router. In this configuration, the shutdown command appears under all interfaces, which indicates all interfaces are currently shut down. In addition, the passwords (enable password, enable secret, vty, and console passwords) are in either an encrypted or unencrypted format. You can reuse unencrypted passwords. You must change encrypted passwords to a new password.
This section provides an example of the password recovery procedure. This example was created with a Cisco 2900 Series ISR. Even if you do not use a Cisco 2900 Series ISR, this output provides an example of what you must experience on your product.
Hi, Reset LAN should reset the wireless settings of the printer back to default. When you enter you wifi password directly on the printer it should not save. You can all try the reset all option. This will reset everything on the printer back to factory settings.
Aloha, I've tried both resets, and the results are always the same; the printer never asks for a password, it just says the password is wrong. I am never offered or asked to submit a new password. I can't find the password step. Even though it says everything was rest, obviously that is untrue.
This is INSANE i am trying to do the same thing and having the same issue losing my mind over here. Why would they make it so HARD to change a freakin wifi password its unimaginable to me. I have Mx340 i have reset the lan setting reset the printer setting, i even looked up how to hard reset the printer and hard reset it and STILL it remembers my wifi and goes automatically to connecting without giving me a chance to enter the new password. I have looked all over their website and there are so many people complaining about this even dating back 5-6 years ago here we are in 2022 and its still an issue.
I am sorry if my frustration is showing through this post but my mind cant even comprehend how such a big company is having so many issues with such a simple thing as changing the wifi password to a network. UNREAL.
I was wary of using WPS because all my internet devices are Apple, but the printer is Canon so I pushed the WPS button. Never got to the point of checking the printer settings because all my internet devices went off line and it took me an hour to get things sorted out. Had to reset the router, and then my Firefox browser helped me navigate to the router settings, which I restored to the original name and password, which the printer then recognized. That means the printer had the correct password all along, which is still baffling.
Background Story: Previous Technician for a small business set up a network for a customer. The Technician went AWOL (The small business owner is a close friend, and I knew the previous technician as well long story short, drugs) The Small Business owner has approached me to make some modifications to his Wireless - LAN. One request was to obtain the password for his wireless (Easily done it was saved on a laptop under Windows just had to click show password) His second request was to make two wireless access points from the Wireless Router. One for Customers and one for the Employees. Something I can easily do as well, but this is where I ran into trouble. The previous technician set a password on the router itself. The password I am referring to is the one you get when navigating to 192.168.1.1. I have tried several "Known" combinations by the owner of the Small Business to no avail. I am currently working on a Brute Force method to try to grab the information, but this is taking a while due to multiple log-ins that are a possibility plus cracking the password. Now I am sure you are asking, why go through all of this trouble when you can just reset to defaults using this button in the back? The answer is there were special settings set up for an invoice program this Small Business unit is using I am not sure what, but to keep them from experiencing downtime and having to troubleshoot their newly experienced issue caused by me I would rather take the long approach because it isn't that pressing of a manner they just want it done. I have expressed to them that it might take some time. Is there anyway to obtain this password, ie; capturing specific packets while rebooting the router? Potentially mounting the flash memory in a Linux system and pulling information from that? I know this is a very "Grey" area that is why I tried to give a lot of background info before posting this, but I can promise this is completely "White Hat"Router Model: Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS Router Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) micro
I changed the password on my home wifi network, so my Google Homes need to be reconnected. But I can't figure out how. I've gone to two of them and "forgotten" the network but there doesn't seem to be a "reconnect" option anywhere. I removed the devices and tried adding them back in as new devices; the app detects the devices but keeps giving a "Could not communicate with your Google Home" error. I've also tried this hack but got the same "could not communicate" error.
FREE WiFi Password Recovery is an app that shows you every password of every WiFi network your Android has ever connected to. In order to use the app, your device must be rooted. If it's not, you can't do anything with this app.
If your Android is rooted, once you open the app, you can see a list of all the networks you've ever connected to and their respective passwords. In the settings, you can choose to not automatically see the passwords (for privacy proposes).
Issue #3 - The whole thing just fails with an error to check the settings. My guess is that it needs a secure port number (465, 587, or 993) or the password is missing. Either way, this function is completely broken.
I was able to replicate the same issue on our AX20. I will need to send this to our software team to investigate. In the meantime you have two alternatives. 1. Set the password recovery up without authenication. 2. Link you router to a TP-Link ID cloud account. This will also allow you to have remote access via the cloud by using a Mobile device and the Tether app linked to the same ID.
You are exactly correct. I responded to the Google warning, which supposedly allows the "un-secure" app. I never got the Google warning again, but it still does not work. My guess is the fact that you cannot properly set it up... missing critical details... port number, encryption method, etc, not to mention the password field that always seems to be blank.
You did not mention the password field. When I save the password and go back to this setting, the field is blanked out. How do we know if the SMTP password is saved when the router GUI shows nothing there??
I just wanted to clarify the encryption feature available in AOS. Without "service password-encryption" enabled globally, only the enable password can be encrypted. In a scenario where this is the case (service password-encryption disabled and enable password encrypted) MD5 encryption is used.
However, ADTRAN recommends that "service password-encryption" is enabled globally. With service password-encryption, ADTRAN utilizes a proprietary encryption technique so that passwords are not easily deciphered. If you previously encrypted your enable password using MD5, then you will want to reset the enable password once service password-encryption has been enabled on the router.
