Bluefire Reader is an e-book reader application for Android (superseded by Cloudshelf Reader), iOS[1][2] and Windows[3][4] operating systems that supports white-labelling. It supports the EPUB and PDF formats for digital publications and incorporates facilities for browsing online catalogs, and downloading them directly into the user's personal library. The application features a library that lets users navigate their collection of eBooks, as well as provides a customizable reading experience through configurable font and background color, font size and type, margin size, display brightness, page turn mode, etc. Additionally, the application allows users to import their own books to read them on the go.[citation needed]
Most databases include their own online reader that enables users to read ebooks within the browser screen. Ebooks that are issued as EPUB files, also offer a better reading experience, making it easier to resize text on various screen sizes (including mobile devices) BlueFire Reader is recommended by database providers for mobile devices. When I try to download an ebook using Firefox for Android, instead of the ebook appearing in my Bluefire ereader app, I just get an acsm file in my Downloads folder. If I use Chrome, the ebook appears in my Bluefire ereader app after the ereader app manages the download. What do I need to do in Firefox for Android so that acsm files are passed to my Bluefire ereader app to manage the download ?
The following are instructions on the installation of an eBook reader (Adobe Digital Editions for PC and Mac, and BlueFire Reader for Android and iOS) and adding your eBook to your library. Please note that there are many eBook reader apps beyond Digital Editions and BlueFire.
A: You cannot use Acrobat Reader to read an eBook because Acrobat does not understand Adobe DRM. You will need to install an Adobe DRM-aware reader app and register it with Adobe before you download your first eBook.
