U.S. Senators Tom Carper (D-Del.) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, today released draft per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) legislation for stakeholder comment. This bipartisan package seeks to improve the mitigation and remediation of PFAS contamination. The EPW Committee is seeking stakeholder comments on the draft legislation by Monday, July 3, 2023.
EPA has gaps in its knowledge and available scientific information about this large class of substances. This legislation will help the agency fill these gaps and build public support to address growing public concerns. This draft bill includes provisions that:
ASSIST COMMUNITIES DEALING WITH PFAS CONTAMINATION
The contamination from PFAS is widespread, and communities are continuing to grapple with challenges driven by these chemicals. This draft legislation includes provisions that:
Draft objects can be used for general drafting, similar to what can be done with Inkscape or AutoCAD. But they can also form the base for the creation of 3D objects in other workbenches. A Draft Wire may define the path of an Arch Wall, a Draft Polygon can be extruded with Part Extrude, etc. Many of the Draft modifier tools can be applied to 2D and 3D objects created with other workbenches as well. You can, for example, move a Sketch or create a Draft OrthoArray from a Part object.
If your primary goal is the production of complex 2D drawings and DXF files, and you don't need 3D modelling, FreeCAD may not be the right choice for you. You may wish to consider a dedicated software program for technical drafting instead, such as LibreCAD or QCad.
After further consideration, the Commission today designated both documents as draft policy statements on which the Commission is seeking further public comment. The two draft policy statements will not apply to pending project applications or filed applications before the Commission issues any final guidance in these dockets.

Once the tryout process is complete, the next step in preparing for the upcoming Little League season is the player draft. A new team with fresh faces means added friends. The memories that will last a lifetime begin when learning the exciting news of what team your Little Leaguer will play for. The draft is an essential part of every local league, and when done correctly, provides a proper disbursement of talent to ensure as fair a playing field as possible, so that each player can have as much fun as possible.
One important note, in both baseball and softball, Major Division teams have no maximum number of league age 12-year-olds; and league-age 12-year-olds must be drafted to a Major Division, Intermediate (50/70) Baseball, or Junior League team. Once all 12-year-olds are placed on the teams, the same process occurs for league-age 11-year-olds. The same procedure is used for league age 9- and 10-year-olds.
The initial act required all men between the ages of 21 and 30 to register with the newly created Selective Service System. By the end of World War I in November 1918, roughly 24 million men had registered and 2.8 million were drafted into the armed forces. The draft was dissolved after World War I.
The Vietnam War was costing the United States approximately $25 billion per year, and disillusionment was beginning to spread beyond college campuses to greater sections of the taxpaying public. Each month, as many as 40,000 young men were drafted into service.
Some men evaded the draft by failing to register with the Selective Service System or by fleeing the country. According to Canadian immigration statistics, as many as 30,000 draft dodgers may have left the United States for Canada during the Vietnam War.
Draft evasion carried steep fines and the possibility of jail time. Nearly 210,000 men were charged with draft evasion, including boxer Muhammad Ali, whose conviction was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
